While Youtube worked on this feature, a few third-party apps did come in to offer people this download ability, but ethically, it was and still is wrong. Thankfully, Youtube has now added a download feature, that allows you to download a video and it is stored within your Youtube account, where you can access and watch it when the internet connection is down, or even generally if you feel like watching it. This feature is available on both, the iOS and Android platforms, so no matter which device you own, you can follow this tutorial.

Open the Youtube app on your iPhone.
Browse to the video you want to download and save on your iPhone device.
Click on the ‘three-dot button next to the video thumbnail.
Click on the ‘Download’ option from the drop-down menu.
Select the quality in which you want to download the video.
If the video is already running, there is a ‘Download’ button right under the video. You can simply tap on the same, choose the quality of the download.
The video will now start downloading and depending on your internet connectivity and speed, it should take a few seconds to a few minutes to complete. these downloaded videos will now be available in the ‘Downloads’ section of your Youtube account, and you can view this content absolutely anytime you want.
