How to make and receive calls on your PC using Your Phone app
Microsoft recently announced the inclusion of the Calls feature in its popular Your Phone app. In this article, we will take a look at how you can now place or receive calls from within your Windows PC/Laptop, using the Your Phone app.
Before we begin, here is a list of pre-requisites –
Android Smartphone running the Android OS version 7.0 or higher.
Windows 10 PC running the April 2018 Update or Later.
Once you have got a hold of all three, we can get started.
Download and Install the Your Phone Companion app on your Android Smartphone. You can do so by visiting the Google Play Store on your smartphone, or via the link on the Microsoft Website. You can also enter your registered mobile number into the Your Phone app on your PC, and you will receive a message with the download link to the mobile app.
Once you have installed the app on your smartphone, turn on the Bluetooth connectivity on both, your PC, and your smartphone. Make sure the devices are connected to the same WiFi network, and then simultaneously, set up Your Phone Application on your PC and Mobile devices.
Once you have connected your Android device to your Windows PC, you will receive permission requests from the Your Phone app, to access your photos, messages, notifications, and calls. Once you grant access, you are all set.
Now, let’s see how to place or receive a call from the Your Phone app
From the Your Phone app on your PC, in the left pane, tap on CALLS.
To place a call, search for the desired contact from the synced contact list, or use the on-screen dialer.
When a call is incoming, a dialog box will pop up that lets you accept or decline a call or send a message instead of answering.
