Whatsapp Messenger is the most popular instant messaging app in the market today. Now a part of the Facebook ecosystem, Whatsapp offers multiple functionalities to users including the ability to create and talk in groups, host video calls, send media and enjoy end to end conversations across the platform.
Whatsapp started off as a simple free to use ‘Instant Messaging’ app, which soon rose to popularity and eventually ended up replacing the standard messaging app on our phones. Recently, Whatsapp also rolled our business-centric features, including a Whatsapp for business app, making the product a versatile and must-have app on all smartphones. Today, Whatsapp is the most downloaded messenger and is available as a free download on iOS, Android, and even PCs.
Whatsapp works in the English language by default, and that can be a problem if you are not a native English speaker. To ease this issue, Whatsapp allows you to change the in-app language, which makes it possible to use the app in the language of your choosing. Right now, this feature works on Android smartphones, but it should make its way to the iOS version soon.
In this tutorial, we will show you how to change the language on Whatsapp.
Step 1. Open the Whatsapp Messenger app on your Android smartphone.
Step 2. Tap on the ‘Three dots‘ icon on the top right-hand side of the home page.
Step 3. Tap on the ‘Settings‘ option from the drop-down menu.
Step 4. Tap on the ‘Chats‘ option from Whatsapp settings.
Step 5. Tap on the ‘App Language‘ option.
Step 6. Choose the language of your choice from the available options.
The language will now be changed for your Whatsapp messenger app. Currently, Whatsapp supports 60 languages on Android with many more in the pipeline. When you change the in-app language, you will also be able to type in a particular language in your chats.
