In an unexpected announcement, series publisher Devolver Digital unveiled a surprise trailer on their YouTube channel, heralding the release of these updated versions. These new releases are accessible now, and they grant existing owners of the PS4 or Xbox One versions the opportunity to experience these beloved titles with current-generation features.
For those uninitiated, “Hotline Miami” burst onto the indie gaming scene in 2012, immersing players in a fictionalized rendition of 1980s Miami. The game casts you as an enigmatic contract killer on a mission to dispatch Russian mob henchmen with ruthless and often brutal tactics, driven by mysterious messages left on your answering machine.
What made the game stand out were its vivid neon visuals, surreal narrative tone, and its unique approach to storytelling. The success of “Hotline Miami” led to the creation of a sequel, “Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number,” just three years later.
