As nationwide remote working has surged across the UAE, cybersecurity threats have increased as hackers take advantage of vulnerable devices. Laptop cameras are particularly susceptible and perhaps one of the most invasive forms of hacking. According to a survey conducted by HP , the awareness of webcam hacking is high, with 79 percent of respondents understanding their privacy could be compromised via their laptop’s webcam. The majority of those surveyed physically cover their laptop webcams with tape, post-it stickers, or pieces of paper in order to feel more secure.
