In the coming months, Google plans to introduce three additional features. The first is biometric authentication for Chrome on desktop, which was previously exclusive to the mobile app. This added layer of security will require users to authenticate themselves using biometric data, such as fingerprints, before auto-filling credentials.
On iOS, Chrome’s Password Checkup feature will flag faulty logins, alerting users to weak, reused, or compromised passwords. The update also includes minor design tweaks to enhance user experience. Autofill prompts will be larger, and saved credentials in the Settings menu will be grouped together for websites with multiple accounts.
