Gmail Introduces Smartphone Email Translation Feature for Seamless Communication

It appears that Google has finally introduced a translation feature for its Gmail mobile app, allowing users to seamlessly translate emails on Android devices. This capability has been available on the web-based Gmail for a while, so the addition to the mobile app is a long-awaited feature.

According to Google’s Workspace Updates Blog, users can now click the “Translate” option at the top of an email to translate the message’s content. If the content language of an email doesn’t match the set “Google.com Mail display language,” a dismissible banner will appear, offering the translation option. Users also have the choice to set Gmail to always translate or never translate specific languages.

While this feature has been highly requested by users for years, its delayed introduction raises questions about why it took Google so long to implement it. Nonetheless, the new native translation integration is aimed at helping users read and understand conversations in different languages more easily.
