Meaning – The term feature, also known as a feat, is an addition to the skill set of a particular product or software, that was not included in past releases of the same. Sometimes, features may be an update to an existent quality of the package, but mostly, a feature corresponds to the introduction of a new functionality within the product or a software package as a whole.
In order to release a new feature for the product or package, the developers need to do a thorough study of how the feature will prove useful and what technology does the package need to possess in order to support the same.
Example of usage – “The company, at their recent product launch, announced a software upgrade for their entire lineup of devices, that introduced some cool new features into the devices.”
