Meaning – In computer-based processes, like gaming or simple text input, the physical keypress or interaction with the joystick is followed by the corresponding input or desired action within the software or game. The notification that indicates the current values provided by the input device to the operator at the display node, is known as an echo.
When it comes to word processing, the phenomenon of printing or displaying each character or line, as it is being keyed in by the user, is called an echo.
An echo can also be defined as the reflected signal on a communication channel.
Example of usage – “Since he had a new gaming rig set up at home, the first thing he needed to do, was to out the echo, in order to correctly calibrate the joypad with the display.”
