Meaning – One of the many actions that the user can perform on the GUI of the computer, is a drag. The drag action is performed by positioning the cursor at a certain location and then clicking the left mouse button and dragging the cursor across the screen, as per the requirement.
The function of the drag action is to help the user select items on the screen, or highlight a certain area within a software, especially design or graphic software.
The drag action can also be used to resize a window that has been opened on the desktop. The effect of the drag action is more or less the same on almost all operating systems. The only difference is the the way the action looks to the naked eye.
Example of usage – “Since the working area of the software window was too small, she dragged the corner of the window and increased the size of the work area, as per her requirement.”
