Genshin Impact teams up with Duolingo for an unexpected in-app crossover event

The world of Genshin Impact is expanding into an unexpected place. The popular role-playing game is collaborating with Duolingo in a limited-time crossover event that brings familiar characters into the language learning app.

Starting December 8, Duolingo users can take part in a special three-day Streak Quest themed around Genshin Impact. The event introduces characters such as Cyno and Tighnari, along with new crossover artwork that blends the visual identity of both platforms.

One of the highlights is the appearance of Duo, the Duolingo Owl, dressed in an outfit inspired by the world of Teyvat. The collaboration is designed to reward consistency in learning rather than gameplay skill.

What players can earn

Users who complete the Streak Quest will receive a bundle of in-game rewards redeemable in Genshin Impact. The reward pack includes 60 Primogems, two Hero’s Wit items, four Mystic Enhancement Ore, a Spiced Fried Chicken recipe, and one Spiced Fried Chicken food item.

In addition to the standard rewards, the event also unlocks two exclusive cosmetic items. These include the Celebration: Dream Reader namecard and the Diligent Study avatar.

The avatar features Paimon asleep on a textbook after studying, wearing a Duo-themed sleep mask. It is the only item from the crossover that cannot be obtained outside the event.

Event duration and availability

Although the Streak Quest itself runs for three days, the crossover rewards can be earned until December 27. Players need to log into Duolingo and complete the required lessons before the event period ends.

Once the deadline passes, the rewards and cosmetic items will no longer be available. HoYoverse and Duolingo have not indicated whether the crossover will return in the future.
