Development teams might spend more time on higher-order activities like narrative and creativity if repetitive and tiresome chores were automated by AI. However, several professionals in the industry are dubious about the marketing hype and are warning against utilising generative AI in game creation.
The hype around generative AI, which some people perceive as a method to automate artists’ employment and regard as progress, is one of the key issues. This narrative, however, fails to acknowledge the reality that making a video game needs a significant amount of effort and creativity and that automating some jobs may not always result in better games.
