Foundation Season 2 release date announced with a Star Trek-inspired trailer

According to the plot synopsis revealed by Apple, Foundation season 2 will take place more than a century after the first season and will see the tension rise throughout the galaxy. As the Cleons unravel, a vengeful queen plots to destroy the Empire from within. The Foundation has also entered its religious phase and is promoting the Church of Seldon throughout the Outer Reach, inciting the Second Crisis: war with Empire. The season will chronicle the stories of four individuals transcending space and time as they overcome deadly crises, shifting loyalties, and complicated relationships that will ultimately determine the fate of humanity.

Foundation season 2 will see the return of Lee Pace, Jared Harris, Leah Harvey, and Lou Llobell as the show’s main characters in Brother Day, Hari Seldon, Salvor Hardin, and Gaal Dornick. Terence Mann, Laura Birn, and Cassian Bilton will also return as Brother Dusk, Eto Demerzel, and Brother Dawn. The season will also introduce new characters, including Ella-Rae Smith as Queen Sareth and Rachel House as Tellem Bond.
