Formula 1 Collaborates with Lenovo to Bring Leading-Edge Technology to Its Operations

Formula 1 and Lenovo announced today that Lenovo will join the Formula 1 family as an Official Partner for the 2022 season. Lenovo’s cutting-edge technology will be integrated into Formula 1’s operations as it continues to deliver the greatest level of racing and entertainment to its global following. Formula 1 and Lenovo, as global leaders in their respective professions, seek to push the boundaries of what is possible when sports and smart technology are combined.

Lenovo’s technology will be deployed throughout the Formula 1 organization over the next few years, both at its headquarters and at races. Lenovo’s hardware devices, as well as its high-performance computing and server solutions, will become more integrated into the organization’s operations. From the operation of sophisticated on-premises data gathering solutions to the creation of higher-quality content and support for broadcast applications, the Formula 1 and Lenovo collaboration will improve the fan experience.

The agreement will increase Lenovo’s global visibility by highlighting the company’s capabilities and integrating industry-leading hardware technologies into Formula 1. It intends to harness Lenovo’s broad portfolio of premium hardware as well as cutting-edge next-generation technology such as augmented and virtual reality, as Formula 1 continues to engage fans in new and more engaging ways.

F1 stated earlier this year that it would extend its commitment to creating job and educational opportunities for underrepresented groups through 2025, in the form of ten engineering scholarships. Lenovo is also committed to diversity, inclusiveness, and the elimination of obstacles, and will collaborate with F1 on projects addressing these critical issues through the relationship.
