There’s some bad news for Far Cry 6 players, and it is that Ubisoft will be stopping future updates for the wildly popular game, but have reassured fans that they will resume online services. Ubisoft released a statement on X which reads – “Thanks to the millions of players who joined the fight. Your adventures can continue in Yara without interruption of online services. However, the dev team will no longer be making updates to Far Cry 6.
“We appreciate your passion, creativity and love of Chorizo, even Anton is proud:, they continued.
There is no official news on why they are stopping the development of Far Cry 6, but if we were to take a guess, it looks like the developer team may be moving on to a newer project, which could just be the next instalment in the series. Ubisoft has not confirmed or denied anything related to another entry in the Far Cry 6, but looking at how well the current version was appreciated, it wouldn’t be far fetched to assume that they are probably planning things out.
While the online services for Far Cry 6 will be resuming, Ubisoft had revealed earlier that they will be stopping online support for the following games – Assassin’s Creed 2, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, and Assassin’s Creed Revelations, along with non-Assassin’s Creed games like Ghost Recon Future Soldier, Splinter Cell: Conviction, and R.U.S.E.
Far Cry 6 released for all major consoles and it will be a tearful goodbye once the support is completely stopped. If you have not played the game yet, we highly recommend that you do, as this is not to be missed.
