At the very least, the technique is familiar. As with CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher 3 patch, it’s an attempt to keep people interested in an old game while work on long-awaited sequel proceeds. No, this is unlikely to increase sales, but it may keep Fallout 4 (and, to a lesser extent, Fallout 76) in gamers’ thoughts until a new release. At the very least, it’s another way to commemorate the series’ 25th anniversary.
