ECOPEACE, a water technology firm based in South Korea, has initiated a global expansion of its autonomous water management systems. The company is starting pilot and proof-of-concept projects in Singapore and the United Arab Emirates to address water quality issues in urban environments.
The expansion centers on the ECOBOT platform, an autonomous robot designed for surface water cleaning and real-time monitoring. These robots identify and remove pollutants such as harmful algae blooms and surface debris. The system utilizes a continuous filtration process that combines stainless-steel microfilters with electrochemical treatment. This hardware configuration allows the machines to process large volumes of water while using a self-cleaning backwash mechanism to prevent filter clogging.
The AI component of the technology relies on multi-point data collected in real time. This software automatically adjusts flow rates and treatment intensity based on the specific levels of contamination detected. In Korea, ECOPEACE already operates these systems across various reservoirs, rivers, and smart-city districts to combat algae growth accelerated by climate change.
In Singapore, ECOPEACE established a joint venture with a local business development firm. This partnership is intended to navigate regulatory requirements and manage the deployment of ECOBOTs in the country’s freshwater sites. The goal is to demonstrate the system’s ability to maintain water quality in high-density urban areas.
In Dubai and the wider United Arab Emirates, the technology is being tested for its effectiveness in arid climates where water scarcity and quality are primary concerns. The company is also developing complementary hardware, including floating purification stations and integrated digital platforms for water intelligence.
ECOPEACE has received several industry recognitions for this technology, including a World Future Award in the Smart Cities category and a CES Innovation Award for its “Healing Boat” model. The company intends to use the results from the Singapore and Dubai pilots to scale its operations into North American and European markets.
