Duracell is a well known name in the battery world, and now, they are ready to take a step further. The battery super brand has unveiled not one, but two new power station devices that are capable of charging a multitude of devices like mobiles, tablets, laptops, and even drones.
The power stations are shaped like BIG Duracell batteries, and that is probably one of the most refreshing tings about them. Usually, power stations are designed with standard shapes, but Duracell, being the iconic brand it is, decided to go another way and that’s how these power stations were born.
Let’s talk about the first one, which is the smaller of the two, the Duracell M150. This power station measures 3.1 inches in width and 6.4 inches in height. Powering this station is a massive 25,000 man battery that can deliver upto 150W of power through a wired connection. The top lid of the power station also doubles as a wireless charging pad which can offer 15W of power. Now, when we say lid, we actually mean it.
Duracell has pulled of a master stroke here by putting in a storage compartment where you can store charging cables. Nifty!! What’s more, the lid can even be tilted to a maximum of 110 degrees, which means you can attach a MagSafe compatible phone to the lid and place it at a comfortable position.
As far as the wired connections are concerned, the M15 has two USB-A Ports as well as two USB-C Ports, which is god enough for charging multiple devices. There is also a ring light near the top of the power station. Duracell feels this ring light will be useful for brightening the face of the users during a meeting or as a regular flashlight.
Duracell says that the number of full charges that the M150 delivers depends on the type of device being charged. At full charge, the M150 can provide one full charge to a laptop, 6 full charges to a smartphone, 50 full charges to a smartwatch, 3 full charges to a tablet, and 4 full charges to a drone. It is unknown how the performance varies when you connect multiple types of devices as once. That is probably subjective, so Duracell has made no comment on the same.
The bigger power station, the M250 is slightly bigger, measuring 5 inches in width and 10.4 inches in height, and possesses a huge 60,000 man battery inside. The overall design remains the same, with the same USB ports, ring light and top lid. The power distribution is improved, with device being able to supply 250 W of power on a wired connection, while the wireless charging performance is identical to the M150.
The improved charging performance means devices get more charges. For example, Laptops get 3 full charges, smartphones get 14, drones get nine full charges, while smart watches get 100 full charges.
Both the power stations are available on Duracell’s official website. The smaller M150 will cost you $200, while the bigger M250 retails for $300.
