Apple Music has grown from strength to strength as a music streaming service, and today, it is considered as good, if not better than Spotify. Sure, the two have their own pros and cons, but if you are an Apple user, you may find that Apple Music is a much better deal. But, one of things that Apple is well known for is taking immediate action on products or services that are either not relevant, or not working out for the brand.
Now, it looks like the cheapest plan in the Apple Music tier, which is the Voice Plan, is all set to face the chopping block. Apple made an official announcement that they will start discontinuing the Voice Plan “starting November”. This doesn’t come as a surprise as all the current Apple Music tiers work seamlessly with Siri, and as such, there is no need for this plan to be an offering anymore.
If you are someone who has subscribed to the Apple Music Voice Plan, you will be able to enjoy the plan and all its benefits until the end of the billing cycle, after which, you will see a notification giving you more information on what you can do, but the obvious choice will be to switch to another plan. For your information, the cheapest plan after the Voice Plan costs $10.99 per month.
If you are on a trial version of the Voice Plan, it is the same thing. Once the trial period is done, you will be notified as to what you can do next, but then again, the only real option is to go for a different plan, or go for a different streaming service.
