Nippon Ichi Software’s latest round of updates has provided gamers with a plethora of information on the upcoming Disgaea 7, which was announced earlier this year. Following Disgaea 6’s 2021 release on Switch and other platforms in 2022, Nippon Ichi formally introduced the newest installment in the long-running TRPG brand in August. Since the premiere of the original Disgaea in 2003, Nippon Ichi’s flagship brand has constantly released new games in between big titles, spinoffs, and re-releases. NIS is already preparing gamers for the seventh main-series installment in the legendary RPG series.
The most recent Disgaea 7 information introduces gamers to one of the game’s key story aspects. The update exposes the “Seven Weapons of Origin,” seven legendary weapons powerful enough to “kill gods” but only for a select few. Each of the game’s primary cast members who have previously been introduced will most likely share the weaponry. The Seven Weapons of Origin also activate the game’s new “Shinuchi Mode,” which grants significant new abilities and stat bonuses to players carrying the weapons.
Along with the Seven Weapons of Origin, Nippon Ichi revealed further details about the core cast of Disgaea 7. NIS already unveiled two of the upcoming Disgaea’s primary protagonists, Fuji and Piririka, as well as five additional cast members. Several new characters are introduced in the update, including the Oedo Shogun Wey-yasu, who wields the “Divine Staff: Tokugawa Tenge,” and the phantom thief Seefour. The unveiling also included the introduction of two of the Seven Weapons of Origin, including the main character Fuji’s and the previously announced Wey-weapons.
Along with its new characters, Disgaea 7 will introduce two new classes to the franchise for the first time. The female “Maiko” class concentrates on “dazzling her opponents,” with bonuses such as enhanced damage against male adversaries, while the male Thief character specializes in “gathering nice goods.” According to the Thief class’s description, using the class may result in additional prizes from the game’s treasure chests. The update also revealed new places, creatures, and other information.
Nippon Ichi Software has been giving fans lots of reasons to get excited about Disgaea 7, which is expected to release early next year. The game will feature various new concepts, including the “Dodeka MAX” system with huge characters and new weapon mechanisms. According to earlier this year’s leaks, the original Disgaea game may also be coming on PS Plus Premium in the near future. When Disgaea 7 is released early next year, it is expected to add several new twists to the legendary TRPG game.
