The 2023 Japan Mobility Show, formerly known as the Tokyo Motor Show, has proven to be one of the most captivating automotive events of the year. Among the many concepts making their debut at the show, Nissan presented four show cars, each with its own unique character and backstory. These concepts have not only been showcased at the Tokyo International Exhibition Centre but are also part of a creative marketing campaign that transcends the traditional automotive show.
Each of Nissan’s Hyper concepts is given its own character, complete with a distinct style and a fictional life story that complements the concept’s overall vision. For example, there’s Kei, a board member of a forward-thinking startup focused on the future of travel, including space exploration. Kei envisions the Hyper Tourer as a versatile vehicle that seamlessly combines business and leisure, allowing her to connect with new people while pursuing her professional endeavors.
On the other hand, Masa is depicted as an adventurous athlete who has relocated with his family to a rural, mountainous region. The Hyper Adventure perfectly aligns with Masa’s aspirations, providing him and his children with the ultimate outdoor experiences.
Yuki is portrayed as an artist who values her individuality and self-expression, and her character is intertwined with the Hyper Punk concept. Tim, a chef working at a French restaurant in Tokyo, finds his ideal companion in the Hyper Urban, which caters to his needs for smart urban mobility.
As if these imaginative characters and concepts weren’t enough, Nissan has taken this creative endeavor a step further by introducing them into the virtual world of Fortnite. Starting from October 25, Fortnite players will have the opportunity to explore these four Nissan Hyper concepts in the game. Nissan’s concept aims to “Electrify the World,” where future cars and cities are seamlessly connected through the electrical grid, and players’ missions will involve saving the world. It’s a unique and interactive way to showcase these futuristic vehicles and their stories.
While Nissan’s Hyper concepts are stealing the spotlight, the 2023 Japan Mobility Show is full of exciting reveals from other automakers as well. Toyota, for instance, introduced the FT-Se concept, offering a glimpse of an electric sports car. Kawasaki displayed a hydrogen-powered internal combustion engine buggy, and Mitsubishi showcased an off-road MPV, adding to the excitement of the event.
This year’s Japan Mobility Show is undeniably a playground for automotive innovation and creative storytelling, and Nissan’s Hyper concepts are a captivating part of this imaginative journey.
