Diablo 4 Developers to Unveil Season 1 Content Plans in Upcoming Livestream

Diablo 4 players can anticipate the reveal of details about the game’s first season of content in an upcoming developer live stream. Blizzard has scheduled a live stream on July 6, during which they will announce their plans for the initial wave of updates for Diablo 4. The stream is set to begin at 11 am PST / 2 pm ET / 7 pm BST, with Australian fans having to wait until 4 am AEST on July 7 to tune in.

Alongside updates for Diablo 4, the live stream will include a deep dive into the newest class of Diablo Immortal, Blizzard’s mobile Diablo game. The stream will conclude with a live Q&A session where fans will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage with Blizzard developers.

During the Diablo 4 segment of the stream, game director Joseph Piepiora and lead game producer Timothy Ismay will unveil their plans for the new season. Diablo 4’s seasons introduce a fresh approach, encouraging players to create “seasonal” characters who reside in dedicated game realms. When the season ends, these characters are transferred to the “eternal” realms alongside existing Diablo 4 characters. The specific features and offerings of these seasonal realms have yet to be disclosed and will be revealed during the live stream.

In keeping with the tradition of the Diablo franchise, players can also create seasonal characters in the game’s permadeath mode, providing an additional level of challenge.

The live stream will also provide insights into the new battle pass accompanying the first season. The battle pass will consist of 27 free tiers and 63 premium tiers, catering to players who may not wish to purchase the pass. The premium battle pass for season one will be available for 1,000 Platinum, Diablo 4’s premium in-game currency. To provide context, Blizzard offers 1,000 Platinum for $9.99 / £8.39 / AU$14.95 in its in-game store. Additionally, an accelerated version of the battle pass will be available for 2,800 Platinum, which includes 20 tier skips and a unique cosmetic item, as is commonly seen with battle passes.
