Dead by Daylight’s most notorious killer has been nerfed

So, Behaviour Interactive decided to tone down the strength of Dead by Daylight’s newest and most powerful Killer.

In their recent developer update, where they were tinkering with Chucky before the official release in Chapter 30 on November 28, they made a bunch of changes. Chucky, who’s been turning heads as a playable character in the Public Test Build (PTB), was a bit too dominant in one specific area.

They did a “small tweak” to Batteries Included, this new perk that gives the Killer a lingering speed boost when passing by a powered Generator. The snag was that when the last Generator got powered, all Generators became powered, making the perk excessively strong in the endgame. So, to sort that out, Batteries Included will now deactivate when the exit gates are powered.

And they didn’t stop there. They gave Survivors a bit more time to react by slightly extending the duration to Scamper under a pallet from 1.2 to 1.4 seconds. Also, Chucky’s movement speed after a missed Slice & Dice attack got adjusted, letting the player gain more distance after a successful dodge.

But it’s not just Chucky; they tinkered with the Trickster too. They adjusted the throw rate from four to three blades per second. While the laceration meter stays at eight blades like in the PTB, the Trickster’s increased movement speed will help in catching up to Survivors faster. The Trickster’s Main Event ability now needs eight blades to activate, addressing how easy it was to earn it in the PTB, especially with certain Add-Ons.
