Cyberpunk 2077 Has Been Officially Confirmed On Steam Deck

Cyberpunk 2077 has been added to the Steam Deck Confirmed games list. Gamers had previously attempted to play Cyberpunk 2077 on the Steam Deck with a supposedly constant framerate, but this is the first time Valve has given it the “Verified” label.

Cyberpunk 2077, which will be released in 2020, is supposed to be a hardware-intensive game due to its open-world scenario and graphics-heavy gameplay. It follows a mercenary named V as he explores and completes objectives in Night City, a futuristic dystopian metropolis in California. Although the game appeared to run nicely on the Steam Deck last year, many gamers believed that it might be optimised even more.

After last year’s revelation that CD Projekt Red covertly implemented Steam Deck optimised settings to Cyberpunk 2077, the game was formally validated for Steam Deck compatibility on Twitter. This means that the game passed Valve’s evaluation, which examined the game’s functioning using the Steam Deck’s default controller setup, the visibility of in-game text on the portable device, and how well the game’s default graphics setting functioned. Gamers who already have Cyberpunk 2077 in their Steam Library may play it on the Steam Deck right away.

Several fans expressed their joy and excitement at the prospect of being able to play the game while on the road, while others speculated that they would finally receive a Steam Deck. Meanwhile, others have suggested that Cyberpunk 2077 be played on a larger screen rather than a Steam Card in order to get the entire open-world experience. This console update also coincides with the release of Phantom Liberty DLC later this year.

Cyberpunk 2077 had a difficult start owing to performance concerns at launch, but it found success after CD Projekt Red rectified the bugs with patch patches. With the release of Netflix’s Cyberpunk: Edgerunners last year, Cyberpunk 2077 reached an astounding sales milestone in a very short period of time, as many gamers purchased and downloaded the game to experience Night City for themselves. When Cyberpunk 2077 gets Steam Deck Certified, the game may see more interest from gamers who want to revisit it or experience it for the first time.

Cyberpunk 2077 joins a lengthy list of Steam Deck Certified games, including Dead Space, Like a Dragon: Ishin, and Hogwarts Legacy. Gamers should expect additional games, particularly AAA titles, to be optimised for the system in the near future.
