Gameforge and 01Studio have announced their collaboration on a new sandbox game creation platform called Cubio. Cubio is designed to make game development accessible and fun for both players and developers, regardless of their prior experience.
Cubio aims to offer an intuitive creator mode with a blueprint system based on the Unity engine, allowing users to create games without the need for extensive coding knowledge. This approach is similar to popular sandbox platforms like Roblox.
The platform encourages users to “realize their own great game projects and enjoy the wondrous games created by fellow community members.” It provides tools for both new and experienced developers to bring their ideas to life and test their creations.
Sebastien Couture, co-founder and programmer of 01Studio, expressed their fascination with limitless content for multiplayer games and the idea of players becoming developers with Cubio.
The announcement trailer showcases the cubic-style world of Cubio, where users can build in real-time, either individually or with friends, to create various game genres such as racing games, adventure titles, parkour runs, and more. Cubio offers a range of creative tools, including AI-powered tools for adding NPC dialogue to enhance the immersive experience.
Interested users can sign up for the Cubio alpha testing phase on the game’s official website, with more details about the alpha testing start date expected soon. Cubio aims to empower players to explore their creativity and develop their dream games.
