In the new game, the playable area consists of 5×5 tiles, with the possibility to purchase 9 tiles once everything is unlocked. Each map tile measures 1.92 x 1.92 km, resulting in a total playable area of 92.16 km², with a maximum city-building area of 33.18 km². This significant increase in map size provides players with more space and encourages greater creativity in city planning and development.
Cities Skylines 2 offers players the opportunity to “think outside the box” with the expanded map, enabling the creation of connections to cities beyond the edge of the map, facilitating trade routes that accelerate city growth. Furthermore, height limits have been lifted, allowing players to build vertically and explore innovative ways to design their cities.
