While the next Cyberpunk game aims to offer an enhanced experience, it is likely to introduce unique changes compared to how The Witcher 2 iterated upon its predecessor. Sarzynski noted that certain aspects in Cyberpunk 2077 worked almost seamlessly right from the beginning, such as the art, city design, music, interactive scene system, and playstyles. The leveling system and NPC interactivity may also undergo minimal adjustments, as CDPR appears content with their current state. Nevertheless, the official acknowledged that these elements took considerable time to refine.
These elements of the game underwent a substantial revamp in September 2023 with the release of the transformative 2.0 update for Cyberpunk 2077. With this update aligning the game more closely with CDPR’s original vision, the company is now prepared to refine the dystopian RPG formula without starting from scratch. The developers intend to weave together existing gameplay elements even more tightly to deliver a seamless and immersive experience in the sequel of the Cyberpunk franchise, Sarzynski emphasized.
