AWS Bedrock Expansion Aims to Make AI More Useful and Impactful for Businesses

Amazon has announced plans to enhance its Bedrock service by adding more foundation models (FMs) to enable customers to build their own generative AI applications. This move aims to provide users with greater flexibility and options, democratizing access to generative AI tools and empowering them to reimagine experiences and create new products.

At the AWS Summit in New York, Amazon also revealed that Cohere would become one of the FM providers for Bedrock. Cohere’s FMs focus on generating, searching, and summarizing information, offering capabilities such as summarization, copywriting, dialogue, extraction, and question-answering. Their Embed model can handle over 100 languages and is designed for clustering, classifying, and categorizing tasks.

In addition to the partnership with Cohere, other existing partners have shared their latest models with AWS. Anthropic’s Claude 2 model is designed for prompts of up to 100,000 tokens, while Stability AI’s Stable Diffusion XL 1.0 (SDXL 1.0) text-to-image model offers significant improvements over previous versions.

By bringing together various top models into a comprehensive solution, Amazon’s Bedrock aims to enable companies to develop their own applications and potentially achieve considerable success in the AI space. This approach reflects Amazon’s strategy of providing customers with powerful tools and services to drive innovation and transformation in their respective industries.
