Assassin’s Creed Fans Can Look Forward to Nexus VR This Holiday Season

Ubisoft has treated fans to an exciting glimpse of Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR, its highly anticipated virtual reality game for the Meta Quest platform. The announcement came during the Ubisoft Forward streaming event as part of the Summer Game Fest, accompanied by confirmation of a holiday launch window. Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR is set to release for the Meta Quest Pro, Meta Quest 2, and the recently announced Meta Quest 3, providing an immersive experience for players. Unfortunately, owners of the original Meta Quest will not have access to the game.

While the existence of Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR was previously known due to Meta’s recent game showcase event, Ubisoft showcased a dedicated trailer during the Ubisoft Forward event. The trailer, though light on actual gameplay footage and heavy on CGI cutscenes, confirms that players will assume the role of an actual assassin in a first-person perspective within the immersive world of virtual reality. Ubisoft promises an engaging experience that includes parkour-style movement, stealth combat, and intense hand-to-hand combat encounters.

Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR introduces former series protagonists like Ezio, allowing players to interact with their memories to access different levels. In an effort to address concerns about motion sickness and the potential discomfort associated with performing intricate parkour moves, Ubisoft emphasizes that the game includes “best-in-class comfort features.” While the specific details of these features remain undisclosed, they are intended to mitigate any feelings of vertigo or fear of heights commonly associated with virtual reality experiences.

As of now, the pricing for Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR has not been announced. However, based on previous top-tier Quest titles, players can expect the game to fall within the range of around $40. It is worth noting that the game will be an exclusive launch title for the Quest platform, further solidifying its significance in the Meta Quest ecosystem.

As the holiday season approaches, anticipation for Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR continues to build. Ubisoft’s commitment to delivering an immersive and captivating experience within the Assassin’s Creed universe holds promise for virtual reality enthusiasts. Stay tuned for further updates on the game’s development and pricing details as Ubisoft prepares to launch Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR, offering players the chance to dive into the world of assassins like never before.
