Apple is finally incorporating some of Gmail’s best features into its own email app

Apple has introduced some significant new Mail capabilities that bring the email program closer to parity with Gmail and other popular email clients. We use Mail for Mac for my professional emails, and we believe we’ll take advantage of many of these upgrades once they’re ready.

Perhaps the most useful feature will be an undo send option, which would allow you to call back an email within 10 seconds of sending it. It’s a Gmail feature we love, and we’ve used it more than we’d want to admit to avoiding posting an embarrassing typo.

A “remind me” option allows you to schedule when an email will return to the top of your inbox. We already use Gmail’s equivalent snooze button frequently to schedule emails for the weekend. A new scheduled send functionality that lets you define when an email should be sent. Mail will even notify you if it believes you have neglected to include an attachment.

When macOS Ventura, iPadOS 16, and iOS 16 are launched this fall, the new Mail functionality will be available.
