Apex Legends Introduces New Playable Legend for Season 17

Respawn Entertainment, the developers behind the popular battle royale game Apex Legends, has announced the release of a new character for Season 17. The unveiling comes after the studio chose not to include a new Legend with Season 16, which was met with disappointment from some players. With the new Legend, August Brinkman, also known as Ballistic, set to make their debut in the upcoming season, Apex Legends fans have something to look forward to.

The latest addition to Apex Legends is an Assault class character who is described as a veteran from the Thunderdome Games era. While the character’s abilities and mechanics have not yet been revealed, players can expect more details with the Season 17 launch trailer on April 26. The announcement confirms some of the leaks from back in March when Ballistic was rumored to show up in Apex Legends Season 17.

August Brinkman is not the only change that players can expect in Season 17. Respawn has confirmed that the new season will include updated versions of the World’s Edge map and the Firing Range. Additionally, a “Weapon Mastery” feature will be introduced, which allows players to complete challenges and earn rewards. Changes are also coming to Ranked play, though the specifics have not yet been revealed.

Respawn’s decision to focus on quality-of-life updates and tweaks over the past few months has been met with largely positive feedback from many fans. This approach has helped the game maintain a steady pace of updates and maintain its popularity among players. With the introduction of the new Legend and other changes in Season 17, it will be interesting to see how the franchise evolves and how players respond to these updates.

Apex Legends is available on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The new season is set to begin soon, and players can look forward to experiencing the latest updates and additions to the game.
