To put things in perspective, the only two Switch updates to date were both announced in July; the Lite variation was disclosed in 2019, while the OLED Model was confirmed two years later and took between two and three months to release. If Nintendo decides to release new gear in 2023, it’s possible the business would adopt a similar launch plan, especially given that the holiday season has traditionally been the most profitable time of year for the gaming industry. Switch Pro rumours have been circling the industry for years now, indicating that a small upgrade with a more powerful system-on-chip is a more likely prospect than a next-generation console.
