Anker’s Soundcore Liberty 4 earphones now include spatial audio and heart rate monitoring

The Liberty 4 is the latest addition to Anker’s Soundcore earphones lineup. While the price of $149.99 keeps the brand in the budget earbud category, they are the first in the line to combine a “stick” design (as seen in the Liberty Air 2 Pro) and dual dynamic drivers, which Soundcore claims “push the boundaries of sound performance, offering clarity across all frequencies for the best listening experience with all genres of music.”

The Liberty Air 2 Pro topped our list of the best inexpensive earbuds last year, and the Liberty 3 Pro impressed for the price when we evaluated them in February, despite ANC that could be improved and more focus on bass and treble under their default settings.

Spatial audio features in headphones and buds are not for everyone, but these buds include them, promising 360-degree tracking with a gyroscope and algorithm that tries to match the sounds as you move your head when viewing movies or listening to music with the function switched on.

They also have an in-ear heart rate sensor that connects to a Wellness app to track daily statistics or just when doing out if you don’t have a watch, wristband, or ring to do so.

They have Bluetooth 5.3, Soundcore’s HearID active noise reduction, three sizes of ear tips, and six microphones (three per earbud) to help your speech come through clearly to individuals on the other end. They also offer multipoint connectivity, so you may remain connected to both your laptop and phone. Like its predecessors, the Liberty 4 supports LDAC, AAC, and SBC codecs, but not aptX.

Battery life may vary depending on which features you use, with up to 9 hours of typical usage, 5 hours in spatial audio mode, 6 hours in LDAC mode with no noise cancellation, and up to 7 hours with just ANC turned on.

Their charging case can charge them from empty to full in one hour and charge them through USB-C or wirelessly. Soundcore claims that the Liberty 4 may be used for up to 28 hours under typical settings before draining the buds and their casing.

If you’re interested, they’ll be available in either black or white, with the black version available through Soundcore.com beginning today, Amazon on October 10th, and Best Buy’s website by the end of October. The white set will be available on October 7th through Soundcore and on October 17th via Amazon.
