Amazon Unveils Bedrock: A Cloud Service for AI-Generated Content

Amazon has launched Bedrock, a cloud service for generative AI text and image models. AWS customers can use Bedrock to create chatbots, summarize text, classify images, and more based on text prompts. The API provides customers with a choice of Amazon’s Titan foundation model (FM) and several startups’ models, including Anthropic’s Claude, AI21’s Jurassic-2, and Stable Diffusion. Companies and developers can customize how the models work based on input, which Amazon says won’t be used for training the models. Bedrock is a serverless experience that allows for quick integration and deployment using AWS tools, including integrations with Amazon SageMaker ML features. Amazon CEO Andy Jassy believes that companies want to work off foundational models that have already been trained instead of spending billions of dollars to train their models. Bedrock provides users with the flexibility they need to achieve their goals without the added cost and time investment.
