Amazon Music provides Prime subscribers with more ad-free listening options

Amazon Prime customers may now listen to a lot more music without advertisements if they use shuffle mode. They will receive ad-free access to Amazon Music’s entire repertoire of over 100 million tracks. Prime members may also get on-demand All-Access playlists tailored to their preferences.

It’s not nearly as significant as 100% ad-free listening, but it’s still a step forward. After all, Amazon still has to keep some services locked behind an Amazon Music Unlimited membership. These include on-demand access to the whole archive, over 100 million HD tracks, and an increasing variety of music in the Ultra HD fidelity and spatial audio categories.

Other changes include a makeover of the Amazon Music app and a new feature dubbed “podcast previews,” which will allow you to listen to handpicked excerpts from podcast episodes. These can help you decide if a podcast is right for you before you listen to an entire episode. Some podcasts are ad-free on Amazon, including its exclusives, shows that launch on its services before they’re accessible elsewhere, and other third-party broadcasts including The New York Times, ESPN, and NPR.
