Amazon Ceases Selling Print and Kindle Magazines, Prioritizing Digital Publications

A spokesman for Amazon, Julia Lee, told The Verge in a statement that as part of its yearly operating planning review process, the firm examines each of its companies to determine what changes need to be made. According to Lee, “We have made the difficult decision to discontinue these services after an assessment of our magazine and newspaper subscriptions and single-issue sales. We don’t take these decisions lightly and are winding down these offerings in a phased manner over several months. During that time, we will continue to support customers, sellers, and publishers.”
