Alan Wake 2 becomes Remedy’s fastest selling game

If you have enjoyed playing Alan Wake 2 over the past few months, you are one of many. Remedy Entertainment shared that Alan Wake 2 has sold 1.3 million copies since its release in October 2023, making it the fastest-selling Remedy game so far. Alan Wake 2 sold three times as many digital copies in its first two months as Remedy’s previous game Control did in its first four months.

The strong sales have supported Remedy’s plans to expand. “The successful launch of Alan Wake 2 has benefited our other games in development – Condor, Control 2, and the Max Payne 1 and 2 remakes – allowing us to increase team sizes thanks to personnel from the Alan Wake 2 team becoming available,” said Remedy CEO Tero Virtala. “We anticipate these projects reaching their next milestones in the first half of 2024.”

For those who have not played it, Alan Wake 2 continues the story from the 2010 original and expands on Remedy’s Connected Universe, with players encountering supernatural monsters, ghosts, demonic forces, shifting realities, and paranormal mysteries. The story will continue with two upcoming paid DLC additions planned.

Control 2 seems likely to build on these connections further when it launches, giving fans more linked paranormal content to enjoy.
