Adobe Firefly Unveils AI-Powered Tools to Streamline Editing Workflow

Less than a month after the launch of its new suite of generative AI editing tools, Firefly, Adobe has announced that it is already working on a host of upgrades to further enhance its capabilities. The upgrades are expected to be added to Firefly’s beta program later this year.

Firefly, which was built from Adobe’s Sensei AI program, can create and transform audio, video, illustrations, and 3D models using text prompts, making it an invaluable tool for professional editors. Firefly’s features are already available across Adobe’s ecosystem, including Premiere Pro, Illustrator, After Effects, and Photoshop, but the new upgrades will further streamline the editing process, cutting down on time-consuming tasks.

The upgrades include “text to color enhancements,” which allows editors to adjust brightness, saturation levels, and even the time of day or year using natural language prompts. The generative AI features will extend to audio as well, with the capacity to insert background music and sound effects by describing the editor’s desired outcome through text. Firefly will also introduce an automated b-roll feature that analyzes the content of the script to generate storyboards and suggest video clips.

Perhaps most impressive of all, Firefly will provide personalized how-to guides for new users, walking them through the process of using the suite’s features. These upgrades aim to empower users through Creative Cloud video and audio applications, cutting down on drudge work and boosting productivity.

The features are expected to be added to Firefly’s closed beta program later this year. The upgrades come as Adobe continues to lead the way in AI-powered editing, helping professionals to focus on the creative aspects of their work, while leaving the time-consuming tasks to the algorithm. The new features will be welcomed by professional editors, as they seek to streamline their workflow and make the most of their time.
