Riley Scooter to Launch Game-Changing RS3 E-Scooter in the US: Compact, Foldable Design Targets Urban Commuters

A Cambridge company called Riley Scooter is set to launch a game-changing e-scooter in the US this April. Their new RS3 model is being dubbed “the all-new commuter scooter” thanks to its revolutionary foldable, compact design.

CEO Hayden Riley said it took 2 years to go from early concept to finished product. They rigorously stress-tested the RS3 over 9 months to perfect its unique folding mechanism.

At CES 2024, they showcased the scooter folding down in seconds to easily fit in small spaces. This makes it ideal for urban commuters. The whole thing weighs just 16kg, but still packs a 350W motor with 25km range per charge.

Safety features include ABS brakes, LED lights, and a removable battery. It also has an app for monitoring speed, range and more. Riley Scooter aims to address commuters’ needs for portable, hassle-free transport.

The frame is made of durable aircraft-grade aluminum. The detachable battery lets you quickly turn it from an e-scooter into a regular one, solving potential transportation issues. An app-enabled interface adds high-tech convenience to the package.

While e-scooters are currently banned in the UK, Riley said demand is booming across Europe. They hope pending UK regulations in May 2024 will open their home market. The RS3 meets proposed size limits, so it’s ready to roll if legalized.

After launching in the UK in February, Riley Scooter expanded to Europe and Australia. Now the US rollout is set for April with plans to supply nationwide.

Riley said it’s perfect for city dwellers hopping to the train station or zipping around congested streets. The foldable design tailored for commuting sets their e-scooter apart from competitors.

With innovative folding mechanics in a lightweight, app-connected package, the RS3 could be a game-changer for urban mobility.
