Twitter is considering adding an option for users to hide the fact they pay to use the platform

Do you enjoy the benefits of Twitter Blue but dislike the impression it sends of an Elon Musk fan? In the near future, there may be a solution. According to Boing Boing, developer Alessandro Paluzzi claims to have observed Twitter developing a feature that allows you to hide the Blue checkmark on your profile. Other users may never realise you’re paying for privileges unless you send a really long tweet or otherwise flaunt Blue-only capabilities. To access the features, you’d still need to authenticate your official ID.

Twitter declined to respond since it dismantled its communications division following Musk’s takeover. The test comes as Twitter announces that on April 1st, it would begin deleting historical verified checkmarks. Musk termed legacy checkmarks “corrupt” in November and indicated the social network will delete them in the coming months.
