Zoom makes it simple to connect your conference directly to Twitch

Zoom said on Wednesday that it has added native connection with Twitch to its app, making it easier to livestream meetings and webinars to the streaming site. With only a few clicks, you may begin broadcasting your meeting after connecting your Zoom and Twitch accounts.

Zoom said that the function is intended to “simplify the process of sharing material within” groups, which indicates that the firm anticipates this tool being used for things like business webinars. There are a number of applications for this type of thing that I can think of – it’d be a simple choice for folks who want to host a live webcast, broadcast a sermon, or make something like a town hall meeting publicly accessible.

To be clear, it’s not as if streaming a Zoom conference to Twitch was previously impossible. Zoom offers broadcasting to additional platforms such as Facebook and YouTube and allows you to establish a custom streaming service – in theory, you could have broadcasted to Twitch by entering your streaming URL and key. You could also have installed OBS and used it to stream a conference, but all of those alternatives are more complicated than the new procedure, which requires only clicking a “Live on Twitch” button and authenticating into the service.
