YouTube Discontinues Premium Lite, Prompts Users to Upgrade to Full Premium

YouTube is ending the Premium Lite subscription option, prompting users to switch to the more expensive Premium tier if they wish to continue ad-free viewing.

As part of the transition, YouTube is offering current Premium Lite subscribers a one-month complimentary subscription to the full Premium tier, even if they had previously used a trial. To take advantage of this offer, subscribers must either cancel their existing subscription immediately or allow it to be canceled before redeeming the free month.

The removal of the Premium Lite option has sparked discussion among users, with many expressing reluctance to double their subscription cost when their primary desire is to enjoy ad-free video content.
