As soon as they caught wind of the attack, Yamaha Motor’s IT wizards in Japan and the Philippines joined forces to stop more chaos. They’re on the grind, figuring out how bad it got and teaming up with an outside internet security crew to bounce back. But, truth be told, they’re not sure how long it’ll take to clean up the whole mess.
Now, they didn’t spill the tea on who these attackers are, but there’s a group called INC Ransom that said, “Yeah, that was us.” And to prove it, they tossed out 37GB of data on November 15. Employee IDs, backup files, corporate stuff, and sales data – you name it, it’s out there.
