There is no real reason why these apps have been removed, as they are not really a strain on memory. However, one thing we have noticed is that Microsoft has stopped support for Windows Maps, so either they are looking to shut down the services later on, or they are working on improving them in the background and releasing a fresher iteration in a later update.
