The unveiling of the username option follows closely on the heels of two other notable feature releases. Firstly, WhatsApp now allows users to edit messages within 15 minutes of sending them, denoting any edited messages with an “edited” label next to the timestamp. This feature grants users greater flexibility and the ability to rectify mistakes or update information.
Additionally, WhatsApp introduced “Chat Lock” in May, enabling users to secure specific one-on-one or group chats with a password or biometric scanning. By implementing Chat Lock, WhatsApp enhances user privacy by preventing message notifications from appearing on the device’s screen, ensuring confidentiality.
