The solutions are built using Vonage APIs and include the following:
- Vonage Fraud Defender: This solution provides businesses with real-time fraud alerting and blocking capabilities. It offers a dashboard that gives visibility into ongoing attacks or potential risks. With Fraud Defender, businesses can customize automated actions, such as proactive blocking and notifications for suspicious traffic. Notably, this solution is available free of charge for all Vonage SMS and voice customers.
- Vonage Verify API (upgraded version): This upgrade enhances the existing Vonage Verify API by introducing omnichannel two-factor authentication (2FA) with added fraud protection. Businesses can now authenticate their employees over multiple channels, including WhatsApp and email, ensuring enhanced security for user verification.
- Vonage Number Insight API (expanded version): This expanded API now includes access to real-time fraud assessment data for global phone numbers. It assigns a risk score to each number and provides next-action recommendations. The scoring system ranges from 0 to 100, with higher numbers indicating a higher fraud risk. Additionally, users can view carrier and phone type information, along with whether the number has been flagged for potential blocking.
Savinay Berry, EVP, Product & Engineering for Vonage, cited findings from Forrester’s 2022 Data Breach Benchmarks, stating that global security decision-makers reported organizations paying an average of $3 million in total as a result of all breaches experienced in 2022. Acknowledging the growing concern of fraud and cyber threats, Berry emphasized that the Vonage Protection Suite aims to tackle this issue head-on by providing customers with agile, scalable, and flexible tools to address their security needs across various platforms, workflows, and even custom solutions.
