Despite the apparent tire advantage, Toto Wolff remains grounded in his assessment. He does not crown Mercedes as the favorite for race victory. The team, hailing from Brackley, has an opportunity, perhaps its best this season, to claim a victory, especially with Red Bull’s commanding presence starting outside the top 10.
Wolff emphasized the importance of humility, stating, “I would never, after such a season, because we are on the front row, call ourselves the favorite. I think we need to be humble about the situation.”
He acknowledged that while the current results may surprise some, the path to securing a Grand Prix victory is a different challenge altogether. Nonetheless, he assured fans and competitors alike that Mercedes would give it their all and adopt a full-attack strategy.
