Jeep has unveiled Compass revisions for the 2023 model year. The SUV now has a turbo 2.0-litre engine, as well as a few other changes. The drivetrain options have also been improved, which should be excellent news for anyone looking for toughness in a tiny vehicle.
The turbocharged 2.0-litre direct-injection inline four-cylinder gasoline engine, which is available for the first time on the Jeep Compass, produces up to 200 horsepower (149 kilowatts) and 221 pound-feet (271 Newton-meters) of torque. This is said to provide remarkable responsiveness and improved drivability.
Furthermore, Jeep’s Active Drive 4×4 technology is now standard across the board.
The Jeep Active Drive 4×4 system is totally automated at any speed and without the need for driver engagement, offering smooth operation in and out of four-wheel-drive mode. Meanwhile, Compass Trailhawk versions equipped with the Jeep Active Drive Low 4×4 technology have a class-leading crawl ratio of 20:1.
Jeep Active Drive and Active Drive Low 4×4 systems are both equipped with the Jeep Selec-Terrain system, which has four modes: Auto, Snow, Sand/Mud, and Rock mode, which is specific to the Trailhawk model.
Jeep’s enhanced safety features, such as drowsy driver recognition, rear seat reminder warning, and security alarm, are also standard across the lineup. Automatic high-beam headlight control is standard on Latitude models and above.
For individuals who wish to stand out, there are three distinct appearances and limited edition packages available. The exterior colour possibilities for the special edition Compass (RED) model are expanded. The new 17-inch wheels are standard on the Compass Sport and Latitude versions.
The 2023 Jeep Compass is now ready for order, with five distinct 4×4 trim choices available: Sport, Latitude, Latitude LUX, Limited, and the tough trail-rated Trailhawk. It is expected to hit North American showrooms in the first quarter of 2023.
