Microsoft has officially made the Windows 11 25H2 update available for all compatible PCs. Originally released in late 2025, the update is now considered ready for wide deployment, and Microsoft has begun an AI-based "intelligent rollout" to automatically deliver the software to Home and Pro users over the coming months.
New usage figures show Windows 10 remains deeply embedded across consumer and business systems, with Windows 11 failing to trigger the rapid transition many expected after support deadlines passed.
Windows 10 reached its official end of support in October 2025, yet more than 41 percent of Windows users still rely on it. Strict Windows 11 hardware requirements, enterprise delays, and long-term familiarity have slowed the shift, leaving millions exposed to unpatched security risks.
