Security experts have issued a warning to WhatsApp users regarding a new wave of account hijacking attacks that do not require hackers to bypass traditional authentication methods. By using social engineering and voicemail access, attackers can take control of accounts even if the user has active security measures in place.
Research from Zimperium finds more than half of iOS apps and one-third of Android apps expose sensitive data. Client-side attacks and insecure storage make mobile apps a major risk for data theft.
